At the consultation you will discuss with the surgeon your expectations and what can realistically be achieved by this surgery, and the suitability of the various surgical options and techniques. This consultation will always take place with the surgeon who is going to be doing the surgery. The surgeon will measure your breasts and examine them in detail, including their shape, the breast skin and the area around the nipple. He will measure the dimensions of each breast in relation to the chest wall especially the maximum diameter of each breast in order to gauge the most appropriate basal dimensions of the implant. Then taking into consideration the size you expect he will work out the volume and necessary projection.
The surgeons feels that a pre-operative mammogram, a base line exam is recommended for all women over 30 years of age, considering breast enlargement surgery, this exam is included in the price of the package. For women younger an ultra-sound examination is considered enough. This follows the guidelines of cosmetic surgery in Egypt and is thought best practice.
In breast augmentation or enlargement surgery the breast implant is inserted through incisions on or near the breasts. The exact position of the incision varies, but the most common incision is either in the crease under the breast, or around the nipple. After making the incision, the surgeon makes a small space into which the implant is placed. This pocket is beneath the breast skin or under the chest muscle. The incision is closed with stitches, dressings are applied over the wounds and a pressure bra or similar devise is worn. The procedure usually takes between one and two hours.
